The Serviced Apartments Association (SAA) was established in February 2000 as a private sector representative organisation in Singapore. It serves to uphold the interests of its members, as well as the operating standards of the serviced apartments industry.
Although serviced apartments have been in existence for more than 30 years, the industry only came into prominence in early 2000 with the increase in number of companies relocating employees or sending them on extended international assignments.
The accommodation considerations for these travellers started to go beyond that of a traditional traveller. The longer length of stay increased the demand for larger spaces, facilities and services that emulate the comforts of home and meet the needs of their families. As a result, the serviced apartments industry has evolved to deliver a premium quality of service beyond that of short-stay accommodations.
SAA’s membership is open to companies that own, develop or manage serviced apartment in Singapore. Members of the SAA are required to meet the operating standards defined by the association and the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Singapore’s land use planning and conservation authority.
There are currently 13 corporate members represented in the SAA. Collectively, they offer a wide range of serviced apartments across Singapore. These apartments are of varying sizes; provide convenient access to different parts of Singapore; offer quality service and are extensively furnished to make visitors feel at home.
A list of SAA’s members and their associated serviced apartments may be found on this website.
